Welded Sculptures Made from Found Objects and Recycled Materials by Brian Mock

Art is an expression of your creativity and for some it can be an abstract concept, whereas, for others it has to embody some tangible form. The sculptor whose work we are featuring here creates life size sculptures by welding together all sort of metallic junk, which would have otherwise rotted away in landfills. Brian Mock is intrigued with using uncommon and discarded items for making extraordinary life size sculptures. His work gives the audience a new perspective about using material that has no use in our households or other places.

I am intrigued by the challenge of creating an entirely unique piece from an eclectic collection of discarded objects. Giving these old, common items a new and extraordinary life as one sculpture is an artistically challenging yet gratifying process. This type of work is also designed to be highly interactive and prompt viewers to question the reality of what they see. Audience reactions fuel my motivation.

These are awesome! Makes me wish I wasn’t afraid of catching my hair on fire welding. Seriously, I happily accepted a “C” on my unfinished welding project in a college sculpture class because it made me so anxious.
